MHSA Approves Moving Fairview To Class B

The Montana High School Association’s executive board approved moving Fairview to Class B during its meeting last week.

Effective in the 2023-2024 school year, Fairview will switch from Class C to Class B.

The Warriors are tentatively assigned to District 2B for basketball, volleyball and track and Class B for boys’ and girls’ cross country and the Class B Division I for golf. Fairview will remain in the Eastern division for eight-player football.

Chinook will also move from Class C to Class B.

Chinook is tentatively assigned to District 1B for basketball, volleyball and track.

Plentywood petitioned to remain in its current classification of Class C.

Other schools moving from Class C to Class B are Lone Peak High School for District 5B, Darby for District 6B, Ennis for District 5B, Park City for District 4B and Superior for District 6B. Forsyth will move from Class B to District 4C basketball and District 2C volleyball.

Other schools who petitioned and will remain in their current classification include Butte Central, Billings Central, St. Labre, Box Elder, Two Eagle River and Simms.
