Wolf Point Runners Open Season With Home Meet

The Wolf Point Wolves opened their cross-country season with a home meet at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 30.

Top boys’ teams at the meet were Harlem with 31 points, Poplar with 49 points and Scobey with 70 points.

Harlem’s Ethan Walker was the individual champion in the boys’ division with a time of 17:06.8.

Wolf Point’s Rebel Mays led the Wolves by earning sixth place with a time of 19:17.4.

Reilly Rees earned 20th place with a time of 21:07.9.

Ezekiel Payne ran the course in 24:55.4 for 50th place.

Poplar won the team title in the girls’ division with 21 points ahead of Scobey with 49 points and Brockton with 61 points.

Poplar’s Journey Gourneau finished with a time of 20:56.4 for top individual honors.

The Wolves will compete at the Poplar Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.
