Atkinson Runs To First Place

Poplar senior Hudson Atkinson finished in first place at the Spartan Invitational cross-country meet in Scobey on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Atkinson took top honors with a time of 19:26.26.

Geordy Medicine Cloud placed 11th at 20:58.98. Polito Garfield was 13th at 2:19.57.

Kobe Darnell finished 18th at 23:15.35. Morgan Mathison finished 21st at 24:48.96.

Other times for the Indians included Thomas Jerome at 25:35.79 and DelRay Lilly at 28:29.75.

Poplar’s boys took third as a team with 25 points.

In the girls’ division, the Indians took second with 26 points behind Culbertson/ Bainville’s 16 points.

Leading Poplar was Jazmyn Carry Water with a time of 24:59.92 for sixth place. Allie Azure finished eighth at 25:24.00.

Teagan Escarega took 12th at 26:25.39. Mailey Wells placed 21st at 28:50.78.

Gracelynn Medicine Cloud took 26th at 29:53.39. Rikki Belton ran the course in 30:54.74. Jayme Red Boy had a time of 33:37.24.
