Projects Being Done Around Community
As spring weather is being felt in the area, projects to improve the community’s outside areas are starting to take shape.
On Saturday, May 6, volunteer crews were out on Burkie Field to prepare for the upcoming Babe Ruth and American Legion baseball season.
Mayor Chris Dschaak, who is a member of the baseball commission, noted goals included putting up outfield signs, securing the dugouts and working on the dugouts’ steps.
Jeff Harada has been recruited to take care of the mowing at the baseball complex.
As far as other projects in the city, Dschaak said the wasterwater project in Wolf Point has started up. The first funds for the project came through the American Rescue Plan Act. The initial round of the project will cost about $4.5 million.
Regarding pot holes around town, Dschaak said repairs will start once the weather gets warmer.
“Where ever they see the need,” Dschaak said of where work will take place. “It’s always getting worse.”
The mayor reminds the public that Clean Sweep starts on Monday, May 15.
