Toavs Resigns From Clerk Of Court Position
The Roosevelt County clerk of district court and superintendent of schools has resigned from those positions.
In a letter dated July 8, Jeri Toavs notified the Roosevelt County Commissioners of her decision.
She cited health issues for her decision.
“I have enjoyed my job the last 25 years as a deputy and then clerk for the last 10 years. I wish you all well and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, I am willing to help,” Toavs wrote.
She is currently still on the ballot for the November general election for the positions. She is being challenged by Erika Fyfe.
If a candidate wishes to withdraw her name from the ballot, the deadline is 85 days before the general election.
Toavs posted on Facebook, “I have made one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make, after 25 years working for the taxpayers of Roosevelt County, 10 of those years as the clerk of district court/ superintendent of schools, I have resigned from my position. Certain circumstances have prompted that decision, but my name is still on the ballot for reelection.”
