Poplar Scores Flag Football Victories At Home
Poplar’s girls’ flag football team enjoyed a very successful home stand with three victories during the week.
The Indians stopped Glendive by a 38-6 final on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Poplar scored first on a pass from Cammie Martell to Bailey Dupree for a quick 6-0 advantage.
Blake Follette then returned an interception for a touchdown. Journey Gourneau connected with Martell on the conversion for a 14-0 lead.
Poplar was soon in business again when Mattie Falls Down intercepted a pass. After a run for a good gain by Dupree, Martell passed to Bree Brown for a touchdown for a 20-0 command early in the second period en route to the big victory.
The Indians opened the week by defeated Frazer, 346, and Wolf Point, 26-0, on Monday, Sept. 9. The Indians were ahead by only a 14-0 margin in the final quarter against Wolf Point before breaking away.
