Lady Wolves Going Into Divisional As Host And No. 3 Seed
The Lady Wolves will host the Northern B Divisional volleyball tournament in the Wolves’ Den Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 7-9, seeded No. 3 out of District 2B.
Wolf Point, second-place in the regular season, the District 2B District Tournament in Glasgow Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2-3, in third-place behind district champion Glasgow and second-place Harlem. Malta finished in fourth-place and will ne the No. 4 divisional seed.
The Poplar Lady Indians will not advance to the divisional after taking loses to Malta 3-1 (25-10, 20-25, 20-25, 20-25) and Wolf Point 3-1 (2426, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15) in the double-elimination district tournament.
The Lady Wolves lost their first match to Harlem 3-0 (20-25, 13-25, 23-25). Wolf Point next defeated Poplar 3-1 (24-26, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15). The Lady Wolves topped Malta in a five-set match (18-25, 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 15-7). A 3-0 (17-25, 22-25, 22-25) loss to Harlem ended the tournament for Wolf Point.

Choteau won the District 1B title in Choteau. Shelby finished second, Fairfield third and Great Falls Central fourth.
The Lady Wolves will open the divisional playing 1B No. 2 seed Shelby Thursday, Nov. 7, at 3:15 p.m. Three of the eight teams from 2B and 1B will advance to the State All-Class Tournament in Brick Breeden Field House on the Montana State University Campus in Bozeman. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 14-17.
“Lady Wolves did not play their best volleyball at the district tournament. They had shining moments, but just too many let downs,” head coach Kim Hanks said.
“Mikaya Smoker-DeWitt played consistently for the Wolves at districts. We will need the same consistent play from her and others to compete at divisionals,” she said.
“We are excited to once again be hosting the divisional tournament,” Hanks said.
