Caroll Iverson
Caroll Iverson, 82, of Culbertson died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020.
She was born in Fairview May 31, 1937, the daughter of Carl and Mary Pennell. They lived on a farm south of Culbertson until they moved to town when she started school. She graduated from Culbertson High School.
She married Rodney Iverson Jan. 12, 1957. She was active in the Community of Christ church and played the piano for services for 57 years. She was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years. She was also a member of Women’s Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Cottonwood Club and Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed visiting family, knitting, crosswords, reading her Bible, listening to music and cooking for others.
She started working at The Searchlight when she was in high school and later the Mc-Cormick Café and telephone office. After her children graduated, she worked as an aide in the kitchen at the Culbertson School and as a cook at the Wild West Diner, Roosevelt Memorial Hospital and Senior Citizens.
Her faith was very important to her. She was a true disciple for her Lord. When she went into the nursing home, she was there to welcome new residents, quick to say hi to others and pray with the staff and residents when they needed a little help.
She is survived by her three girls, Irene Thuesen of Billings, Mae Hecock of Shelby and Bev Raaum of Culbertson; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy and Ronald; and sister, Eileen.
Her funeral service was held Tuesday, March 3, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
