Area School Closures, Special Information
Governor Steve Bullock announced a set of directives and guidance to slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and protect vulnerable Montanans Sunday, including closing of public K-12 schools, social distancing measures and limiting visitation at nursing home facilities. Bullock has directed Montana’s public K-12 schools to close starting on Monday, March 16, and remain closed through March 27. See below for information about area schools.
Bainville Public School:
Administrators hope to have options in place for remote instruction by the beginning of next week. 406-769-2321.
Culbertson School: Administrators request that students remember to check their Gmail accounts for information from teachers and staff. 406-787-6241.
Frazer School: The Frazer School will be serving meals via curbside pickup at the front entrance of the school. Breakfast is from 7:45-8:15 a.m., curbside is from 8-8:15 a.m. Lunch is from noon to 1 p.m., curbside from 12:05-12:20 p.m. If you are wanting your meals delivered you must call the school and let the office staff know to put you on the list. 406-695-2220.
Frontier School: Frontier parents are requested to pick up work for their students on Tuesdays. The school will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Library books will be available and student work may be dropped off during these times as well. 406-653-2501.
Froid School: Bus route students will have their work delivered by the bus driver. They will be leaving the school at 2:00 p.m. Students that live in town will have their homework delivered to their house by staff. Teachers will be available to help students. Additional information will be provided with their work on contacting their teachers for help. If your child needs a lunch, we will provide a grab-and-go lunch at the school starting Wednesday. Please email the front office at fps14@gmail.com by 1:00 Tuesday if your child needs a meal. Meals will be charged the same as if school were in session.
Lustre Christian School:
A plan is in place to move forward with instruction via combination of physical assignments and remote instruction. 406-392-5735, info@lustrechristian.org.
Nashua School: The Nashua School District will be implementing remote instructional material via the school’s Google platform. Students without internet access may request homework folders. 406-746-3411.
Poplar School District:
Breakfast/Lunch grab-and-go sacks are available each weekday from 11 a.m. to Noon at the following locations: Airport Addition BB Courts, Cultural Center Parking Lot, East End Headstart Playground, and PMS Front Entrance. Meals are for all youth age 18 and under. 406-768-6600.
Wolf Point School District: There will be meals served during the two-week school closure ordered by Governor Bullock. This is available to all enrolled students of the Wolf Point School District. The district will provide a “curbside” grab-and-go service at the north doors leading into the multipurpose room at the High School (the doors used for basketball games). The enrolled student or parent/ guardian of student must be the one present to take the grab-and-go meal and must give their name to school staff. This is the only location meals will be served. Nobody will be allowed inside the school. Bags will be handed out the door. 406- 653-2361.
