Softball Tournaments This Week End Youth Programs
Wolf Point Youth Sports shortened seasons were scheduled to end with oneday, single-elimination Hi-Line softball tournaments in Plentywood this week.
The Lady ‘Jackets major fast pitch team for girls ages 13 through high school played their Hi-Line tournament Tuesday, July 7, after the Northern Plains Independent
went to press.
If weather permitted on Tuesday, the Lady ‘Jackets played the opening round with Plentywood at 3 p.m. The winner was scheduled to face Scobey, which had a first-round bye, at 5 p.m. The winner of that game was to have played Bainville, Culbertson or Crosby N.D., for the championship at 7 p.m. The Bumblebees minor girls’ slow pitch team open the tournament with Culbertson Wednesday, July 8, at 3 p.m. The winner plays Plentywood, which has a first-round bye, at 5 p.m. The winner earns a berth in the championship game against either Crosby, N.D., Scobey A or Scobey B at 7 p.m.
Both tournaments were postponed from last week due to weather.
The Hi-Line girls’ softball tournament ends the Wolf Point Youth Sports season with no tournament scheduled for boys’ minor and pee wee boys’ and girls’ programs completing their schedules.
The seasons were shortened due to uncertainty wrought by restrictions and safety concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
