The Roosevelt County Commissioners held their regular meeting Tuesday, July 21, at the commissioners’ office in Wolf Point.

The commissioners approved minutes for the July 7 regular meeting and special administrative meetings July 7 and 13.

Census worker Colleen McCarthy called into the meeting to update the county about the latest census collection results. She said the county has a completed census rate of 38 percent. The State of Montana is currently at 56 percent and the nation is at 62 percent. John Bach with Interstate Engineering addressed the commissioners about the growth policy and asked residents to visit rooseveltcounty. org for more information and to complete a survey.

The commissioners renewed an agreement with Tom Nichols with TQN Consulting for tax-related services. They also approved a tax refund on the Averill property, as well as investments and pledged securities from the treasurer.

A call for bids was approved for the vacant lot on the north side of Main Street next to China City Restaurant.

Bids were opened for a Westendorf TA-46 loader frame. The sole bid was approved for Jared Poland to purchase the loader for $3,000.

Claims were approved for June 30 in the amount of $187,594.04 and July 13 in the amount of $370,194.34.

Annual pay raises were approved for dispatch employee Leann Marottek and treasurer office employees Shelly Arndt and Brittany Deavila.
