Post 49 Bulls Vs. Billings Cardinals

Community News Staff The Post 49 Bulls dropped four baseball games against strong Billings squads on the road during the weekend.

On Friday, the Bulls fell against the Billings Cardinals by scores of 12-2 and 15-8.

The Bulls gained a 2-1 lead in the top of the third in the first game, but the Cardinals struck for three runs in the fourth to move ahead to stay. Billings put the contest away with seven runs in the sixth.

Bode Miller knocked both of the Bulls' runs in. Scoring were Colt Miller and Dylan Tabbert. Having the Bulls' two hits were B. Miller and Tabbert.

The Cardinals outscored the Bulls, 15-8, in Friday's second game despite a strong effort by the visiting team.

Trailing 5-1, the Bulls struck for five runs in the top of the fourth. Jackson Oie scored on a double-steal play with Issac Johnson to put the Bulls ahead 6-5. The Cardinals responded with six runs in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the fifth.

Johnson and Walker Ator led the Bulls with three hits and two runs batted in each. Romo added two hits. Scoring for the Bulls were B. Miller, McNally, Johnson, Romo, Payton Hauge, Ator, C. Miller and J. Oie.

On Saturday, the Billings Blue Jays downed the Bulls 23-2 in the first game. The Blue Jays accounted for 18 runs in the opening three innings.

B. Miller scored the Bulls' two runs. Having hits were B. Miller, Hauge, Romo and McNally.

The Blue Jays scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to edge the Bulls, 11-10, in the second game.

The Bulls jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. A double by Hauge highlighted the frame.

With the game deadlocked at 6-6, the Bulls scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 10-6 lead.

Hauge scored three runs in the game. Adding two runs each were Johnson and Romo. Colter Oie had two runs batted in.

Leading the Bulls with two hits each were B. Miller, Johnson, Hauge, Tabbert and J. Oie.
