Wolf Point Man Arrested For Assault With Hatchet
Austin Lee Pipe Sr., 29, of Wolf Point, has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in substantial injury to dating partner.
He was arrested in Wolf Point on a federal warrant July 21.
According to charging documents, Pipe intentionally assaulted an intimate and dating parter with a dangerous weapon, a hatchet, on or about Feb. 13, 2019, at or near Wolf Point. The incident allegedly resulted in substantial bodily injury. A hearing has been set for Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. at the Missouri River Federal Courthouse in Great Falls.
If convicted of the most serious crime, Pipe faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
Pipe was detained pending further proceedings.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Fort Peck Criminal Investigation investigated the case.
