Bainville Town Council Holds Monthly Meeting

Community News Staff The Bainville Town Council discussed several topics during a budget meeting held on Monday, July 20.

Council members appeared to be willing to purchase a skidsteer bucket with grapple along with a town vehicle. They still need to decide whether the vehicle should be four-wheel drive and whether it should be new or used.

As far as the cemetery improvement project, council members agreed that different fencing is needed.

A new community center is hoped for, but the project won’t be able to be funded with the 2021 budget. The goal is for the center to feature a museum, senior center, city library, office spaces, council meeting space, a town office and an emergency shelter.

The city is considering a sewer line improvement plan for between Rhea and Flynn avenues and Tubman and Evans streets.

A goal is to revise the trail committee once the construction on the highway is completed.
