Wolf Point Man To Be Tried On Federal Meth Charges
Chance Justin Redstone, aka CJ Redstone, 35, of Wolf Point, appeared last week before U.S. magistrate judges on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.
The charges were handed down by a grand jury or on criminal complaints. The charging documents are merely accusations and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
According to a redacted indictment, Count I alleges that Redstone knowingly and unlawfully conspired and agreed with others, both known and unknown to the grand jury, to possess meth with the intent to distribute. Count II alleges that from in or about April 2018 to March 2019, at or near Wolf Point and within Roosevelt County, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, Redstone possessed with the intent to distribute five or more grams of actual methamphetamine. Count III alleges that on or about April 5, 2018, at or near Wolf Point, the defendant knowingly distributed, five or more grams of meth.
A trial date has been set for Oct. 20 at the Missouri River Federal Courthouse in Great Falls. If convicted of the most serious crime, Redstone faces a minimum mandatory five years to 40 years in prison, a $5 million fine and four years of supervised release. The FBI and Fort Peck Criminal Investigation investigated the case.
