Marie Mae YellowOwl, 67, of Poplar died Aug. 3, 2020.
She was born May 10, 1953, in Poplar to Raymond YellowOwl Sr. and Gertrude YellowOwl (Shields).
She lived in Poplar all her life. She was a bartender at majority of the bars in Poplar. She was the life of the party. Her friends knew she was that “once-in-a-lifetime friend.” In her last years, she enjoyed her cooking shows and visits with anyone who stopped in.
She had four children: Tiki Ann Crow, Lynett Kay YellowOwl, Lindy Lorraine Crow and William Charles Cantrell.
She is survived by her children Lynette YellowOwl, Lindy Crow and William Cantrell; nine grandchildren; and siblings, Sharon YellowOwl, Michael YellowOwl, Corrine YellowOwl and James Burshia.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Warren, Myron, Doug and William YellowOwl; sisters, Arlene Red Eagle and Rhonda YellowOwl; grandson, Emilio Venegas; and daughter, Tiki Ann Crow.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment was at Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
