Poplar School Board Approves Reopening Plan
According to Poplar School board member Jestin Dupree, reopening plans for schools in Poplar will be flexible and adaptable, with the goal of everyone being in a safe environment. According to statement from the board released Aug, 11, the Montana Office of Public Instruction has four scenarios and the State of Montana put out three scenarios, both of which have been considered.
“We will be using the Montana OPI’s recommendations,” said the statement. “There is still internet access in the Poplar Schools parking lot along with the inertnet hot spot in downtown Poplar provided by Nemont. The schools will be doing everything possible to in order to ensure our re-opening is safe. They will have PPE available and the high school will an open campus.”
The statement continues, “The plan for the Poplar Schools will be re-opening with strict guidelines. If any parent has questions pertaining to their students, please contact their principal’s office for guidance. The school will have the proper PPE available. Sports will be going forward with guidelines. Aug. 27 will be the first day of school.”
