The Culbertson Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 512 3rd Avenue West in Culbertson on the afternoon of Aug. 5, according to Roosevelt County fire warden Mike Olson.

He said there was a report that the fire was spreading to neighboring buildings. Engine 17-22 arrived on scene to find a shed fully engulfed in flames and a second shed burning.

“The fire was also beginning to burn house directly to the south,” said Olson, “17-22 deployed an attack line and suppressed the second shed and house. The original shed was then extinguished.”

Culbertson ambulance assisted with care of bystanders and firefighters. Nobody was seriously injured.

Neighbors reported a hearing a series of small explosions prior to the arrival of the fire department.
