Fatal Crash Claims Lives Of Two East Of Williston

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that a 24-year-old man and a one-year-old boy died and a three-year-old boy was injured in a two-vehicle crash on N.D. Highway 1804, about 30 miles east of Williston, on Friday, Aug. 21.

The victims have been identified as Trenton Beston and his one-year-old son, Enright, of New Town. Beston’s three-year-old son, Trenton Beston Jr., remains in a Fargo hospital with serious injuries as of presstime.

According to the patrol’s report, a 2006 International semi pulling a belly dump trailer loaded with gravel was going west on Highway 1804. A Dodge Journey SUV, driven by the New Town man, was traveling west on the highway behind the International. The Dodge struck the rear of the belly dump trailer and overturned on the road. The Dodge came to rest in the westbound lane of Highway 1804, facing southeast, on its top.

Trenton and Enright Beston sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene. Trenton Beston Jr. sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Tioga, N.D., medical center and later flown by air ambulance to Sanford hospital in Fargo, N.D.

The semi driver was not hurt.

Troopers report that no one in the Dodge was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation by the N.D. Highway Patrol.
