I’d like to take this time to reach out to Medicare Beneficiaries who receive LIS (Extra Help) to help pay for their Medicare Part D coverage.
During this month of September, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are sending out the Low Income Subsidy Status Notice.
This notice will be on grey paper and is to inform you that you no longer automatically qualify for LIS (Extra Help) for the following year and to let you know that you need to reapply. The application along with a postage-paid envelope is included with the notice.
If you need assistance completing the application, feel free to contact our office for an appointment to assist you.
For those beneficiaries not currently receiving LIS (Extra Help) the income and resource guidelines for Extra Help are as follows: Income: Single: below $19,140 Couple: below $25,860 Resources: Single: below$ 14,610 Couple: below $29,160 If you meet these guidelines, you are encouraged to apply. If you need assistance, call and make an appointment. We are happy to help. You can also go to https:// www.ssa.gov/benefits/medicare/ prescriptionhelp/ to get more information and to apply.
The Roosevelt County Aging Services offices are located in Wolf Point just north of the courthouse in the Roosevelt County Community Services Building.
