Azure Wins UFC Fight

Hunter Azure of Poplar improved his Ultimate Fighting Championship record to 2-1 by earning a unanimous decision victory over Cole Smith during UFC Vegas 9 on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Azure won the bantamweight fight by a 29-28 margin.

Azure scored the only knockdown of the fight at the 3:30 mark of the first round.

He edged Smith in significant strikes by a 40-21 margin, takedowns by a 5-2 margin, knockdowns by a 1-0 margin and control time 8:01 to 3:09.
