Bainville Council Agrees To Tree Expense

The Bainville Town Council has agreed to take care of the expense for the removal of a large dead tree Lightning struck the tree on Evans Street during a storm this summer. The town has control over trees on boulevards.

“I think for the safety of the public, we should just take care of it,” council member Travis Wills said at a recent meeting.

Also during the Sept. 16 meeting, council members heard a complaint from a resident regarding two loose dogs on private property. The council is considering adopting the county’s ordinance on at-large dogs so that it will be easier for the sheriff’s office to enforce.

The council approved a resolution for requesting distribution of Bridge and Road Safety and Accountability (BaRSAA) program funds. Projects covered include town streets and storm drainage.

The council heard from the new property owner of the former man camp. Some revisions need to be made before the town can approve an agreement.

A decision regarding purchasing another town vehicle was tabled.
