Poplar Postpones Events  Due To Spread Of Virus Poplar Postpones Events  Due To Spread Of Virus

Because of concerns regarding the spreading of Coronavirus, the Poplar School District has postponed extra-curricular activities until further notice.

Poplar School’s Emergency Operations made the decision on Thursday to have a 10-day pause period of face-to-face instruction until Sept. 29.

“We always want to keep in mind not only our students/ athletes, staff, and community health and safety but also our surrounding communities,” Poplar Athletic Director Coy Week wrote in a letter.

Volleyball action postponed including the Sept. 17 match against Glasgow, Sept. 22 against Sidney, Sept. 25 at Richey-Lambert and Sept. 29 at Frazer. The Indians’ next scheduled match is Oct. 1 against Frazer.

Football games against Shepherd and Colstrip were canceled. Poplar is scheduled to host Red Lodge on Oct. 2.

The Indians will not run at cross-country meets in Glasgow, Frazer and Culbertson. A meet is scheduled in Miles City on Oct. 3.
