Wolf Point Runners Earn Honors At Glasgow Invitational

Wolf Point’s boys ran to a third-place showing in the team standings at the Glasgow Invitational cross-country meet held on Saturday, Sept. 19.

“Our team ran really well,” Wolf Point coach John Wetsit said. “The state rankings reflect that we’re improving.”

Wolf Point’s senior Zander Ackerman finished second overall with a time of 16:57.19. He is ranked first in Class B. Samuel Smith of Richey/Lambert earned first at 15:54.63.

“The kids continue to work hard,” Wetsit said. “As a coach, that’s what you want.”

Wolf Point’s Payton Summers, a freshman, took seventh with a time of 18:28.79. Kaholo Toavs, a senior, placed 18th at 19:56.63.

Jaxon Azure, a junior, finished 34th at 25:07.80.

Glasgow’s girls won the team competition with a score of 36 points.

Iris McKean of Glasgow finished first in 19:45.34.

Wolf Point’s sophomore Piper Ruffing placed seventh at 23:11.99. Presley Grandchamp, a sophomore, took 52nd place at 31:40.38.

The Wolves will compete in Culbertson Sept. 26.
