Cowboys Fall Against MonDak

A short-handed Culbertson football team lost by a 52-24 final against MonDak during action in Grenora, N.D., on Saturday night.

Due to injuries, the Cowboys were able to dress only 11 players for the contest.

“We started a bunch of back-ups,” Culbertson Coach Brian Manning said. “Our younger kids played a pretty clean game.”

MonDak gained a 24-0 advantage in the first quarter and increased the margin to 46-8 at the half.

“We played hard,” Manning said. “MonDak scored quite a few points early.”

Culbertson’s quarterback Payton Perkins ran for two touchdowns. The Cowboys’ other touchdown came on a pass from Perkins to Kobe Nickoloff. A tackle by Aiden Perkins resulted in a safety during the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys return to action with a game at Plentywood on Saturday, Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

“We should have a few of the guys back,” Manning said.
