Culbertson Holds Cross-Country Meet
The Culbertson/Bainville girls earned third place in the team standings during their home cross-county meet held during very windy conditions on Saturday morning, Sept. 26.
Miles City took first place with 28 points. Glasgow placed second with 67 points while Culbertson/Bainville grabbed third with 81 points.
Plentywood’s sophomore Annie Kaul was the individual winner with a time of 20:07.89.
Leading Culbertson/ Bainville was sophomore Kayli Olson with a time of 23:22.83 for 10th place. Sam Palmer was right behind at 23:26.84 for 11th place.
Autumn Bergum finished 12th at 23:46.64. Abbey Granbois took 18th place at 24:49.54. Megan Granbois took 30th at 26:31.40. Donna Butifoker was 32nd at 26:42.35.
Culbertson/Bainville took seventh in the boys’ division with 172 points. Wolf Point won the boys’ title with 57 points followed by Glasgow’s 60 points.
Samuel Smith of Richey/ Lambert was the individual winner with a time of 126:53.80.
Senior Colby Olson led Culbertson/Bainville in 29th place at 21:04.46.
“It was very windy,” Olson said. “The whole straightaway back was just awful.”
He said he was happy with his performance, but he aims to keep getting a faster time.
Wyatt Snyder, a junior, placed 32nd at 21:43.15. Drae Nelson, a sophomore, took 34th at 22:10.98.
Maurice Bighorn, a sophomore, finished 38th at 25:29.19. Isaiah Bighorn, a junior, took 39th at 26:01.67.
