Area Clubs Recognize National 4-H Week

Clubs throughout the country, including five clubs in Roosevelt County, are recognizing National 4-H Week for Oct. 4-10.
Roosevelt County MSU Extension Agent Ardis Oelkers notes that clubs have traditionally created displays, including sometimes at area businesses, during the week.
The 4-H clubs in the county include Frontier in Wolf Point, Missouri River Rats in Culbertson, Tumbleweeds in Bainville, Up-N-Atom in Froid and Bainville and Centennial Clovers in Culbertson and Bainville.
“They are regrouping and organizing for the new year,” Oelkers said.
The 4-H year runs from Oct. 1, to Sept. 30. She notes that a change this year is that registration for leaders is taking place on-line.
“We encourage the area counties to contact their Extension offices for more information,” Oelkers said.
She added that there is a total of about 100 4-H members and leaders in Roosevelt County.
The Montana State University System notes that National 4-H Week is a great way for youth and volunteers to come together with the larger 4-H family across the nation to celebrate over a hundred years of empowering youth with the leadership skills they need to succeed in life.
