Fire Restrictions To Lift, Burn Permits Required

With the fall weather creeping closer, Roosevelt County will be coming out of Stage 1 burn restrictions beginning on Friday, Oct. 9.

This will allow us to begin opening up days for burning when the weather conditions are favorable. With the lack of moisture, strong winds and dry fuel, it will still be a week or two before we will be able to allow burning.

Once burning can resume, residents must call Roosevelt County dispatch at 653-6240 to obtain a burn permit. Small backyard fires in a permanent fire ring are allowed.
