USDA Loans $300,000 For Wastewater Improvements In Poplar
U.S. Senator Jon Tester announced Oct. 13 that the City of Poplar will receive a $300,000 loan from the United States Department of Agriculture to update their wastewater treatment system.
“In frontier areas across Montana, it’s critical that folks have access to up-todate wastewater systems, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Tester. “This investment will allow Poplar to make critical improvements that will help the whole community, ensuring that small business owners, farmers, and hardworking families can maintain a solid infrastructure without emptying their pocketbooks.”
The City of Poplar will receive the funding as part of the USDA Rural Development Loan Program to finance updates to their wastewater treatment systems. These improvements consist of replacing 4,150 linear feet of the existing clay tile pipe collection mains with polyvinyl chloride pipe.
