Esther Anderson
Esther (Hoch) Anderson, 92, of Wolf Point died Oct. 11, 2020.
She was born on July 31, 1928, to August and Hulda (Ortmann) Hoch in Wolf Point.
She married Richard D. Anderson on July 20, 1952, in Wolf Point. Together, they raised four children. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always very involved with and loved to spend time with her family. She and Richard spent 50 years together before his death in 2002.
She spent her life in the Wolf Point community. She was very involved in her church and spent many years serving on the food committee, which she loved to be a part of. She enjoyed being a part of church events throughout the year, she loved gardening and putting together a rock garden filled with moss roses.
Music was always such a large part of her life and she loved everything from Gospel to the “Oldies.” She was a huge fan of Elvis, baseball and horseshoe. One of her favorite times of year was the World Series, but she also loved the Wild Horse Stampede. During this time, all of the family would gather and it was a very special occasion for her to have everyone together.
Most of all, she loved the farm that she was raised on with her brothers and sisters and would always speak very fondly of the memories she had there. Those who knew her probably remember the love she held for an ice cold “Pepsi.” She was known to drink “Pepsi” every day; back in the day, she and Richard were commonly known as the “Pepsi-Cola couple”.
She was truly an amazing woman; she never had a complaint about anything and was never known to have a cross word. She had the most infectious smile and laugh and the best sense of humor. She was always very witty and loved to joke.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Conner of Wolf Point, Carol Fender of Billings, Colleen Borgen of Bismarck, N.D., and Wayde of Sisseton, S.D.; sister, Evelyn Knight of Rapid City, S.D.; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Wesley Anderson; six brothers, Emil, Elias, Elvern, Ervin, Elmer and Eddie; and two sisters, Elsie and Ella.
Cremation has taken place and a family memorial has been planned for a later date. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
