Red Hawks Open Playoffs On Saturday

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks are anxious to start playoff football season as they will host Broadview/Lavina at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.

“We’re feeling pretty good,” Froid/Lake coach Michael Reiter said. “We’re pretty healed up. The bye week helped a lot.”

As the top seed from the East, the Red Hawks will play home throughout the playoffs.

“As far as the team goes, we aren’t going to do anything different,” Reiter said as far as preparations. “I see a lot of buzz on Facebook about what the parents are doing. There will be signs around the communities and businesses.”

Broadview/Lavina is also new to the playoffs. They took third in the Southern standings this year.

Reiter said the Pirates are led by a good sophomore running back.

“They are a running team,” Reiter said. “When they do pass, they go for a big shot.”

Other first-round playoff games will feature Noxon at Harlowton/Ryegate, Bridger at Hot Springs, Wibaux at Big Sandy, Richey/Lambert at Shields Valley, Denton/Geyser/ Stanford at Power/Dutton/ Brady, Hobson/Moore/ Judith Gap at Savage and Sunburst at White Sulphur Springs.

The winner of the Froid/ Lake against Broadview/Lavina game will face the winner of Noxon against Harlowton/ Ryegate.
