DPHHS Releases Report On COVID-19 In The Schools
The Montana Department of Health and Human Services released information on Wednesday, Oct. 28, regarding schools with possible COVID exposures this school year. The report included school names reported to Montana DPHHS.
According to the information, Roosevelt County schools had 10 staff positives including two at Poplar High School, two at Brockton High School and two more at Poplar Middle School. Having one positive staff member each were Bainville Schools, Brockton Middle School, Northside Elementary in Wolf Point, Southside Elementary in Wolf Point.
Roosevelt County had 44 total students with positives, according to the report. Poplar High School and Poplar Middle School each had nine positives reported. Wolf Point High School had seven, Culbertson Elementary had four and Northside Elementary had four. Other schools listed included Brockton Middle School with two students, Culbertson High School with two, Brockton Elementary with one, Brockton High School with one, Culbertson Middle School with one, Frazer School with one, Froid Elementary with one, Poplar Elementary with one and Wolf Point Junior High with one.
The report notes that Valley County accounted for two staff positives and 31 student positives. The number includes 18 students of Glasgow’s Irle Elementary School.
Scobey High School had one student positive in Daniels County.
In Sheridan County, there were one staff positive each at Medicine Lake Elementary and Westby Elementary. There were three student positives at Plentywood Elementary School.
Circle High School was reported as having three staff positives and two student positives. Also in McCone County, there were three student positives at Redwater Elementary and one each at Bo Peep Elementary and Vida Elementary.
In Richland County, there were eight staff positives including two each at Sidney High School and Savage Schools. Other staff positives were reported at Fairview Elementary, Fairview High School, Lambert Schools and Central Elementary in Sidney. There were 35 student positives including 15 at Sidney High School and 11 at Fairview High School. Other student positives included three at West Side Elementary, two at Central Elementary in Sidney, two at Sidney Junior School, one at Fairview Elementary and one at Savage Schools.
Overall, there were 415 staff positives and 1,033 student positives in Montana. That amount includes 99 staff members and 113 students in Yellowstone County. In Flathead County, 216 student were reported as positive.
Cases associated with universities included 75 with the University of Montana Western, one for Little Big Horn College, five with MSU Great Falls College, one with Miles City Community College, 425 with MSU Bozeman, 36 with MSU Northern, four with Flathead Valley Community, eight with Salish Kootenai College, 102 with Carroll College, two with Helena College, 315 with the University of Montana, 99 with Montana Tech, 38 with MSU-Billings, 41 with Rocky Mountain College and eight with Yellowstone Christian College.
