Wolf Point Senior Learns Valuable Lessons At Work
Wolf Point High School senior Sam Moccasin is learning lessons both in the classroom and after school during his senior year.
At the end of each school day, Moccasin heads over to Albertson’s where he is employed as a cashier.
“I’ve learned a lot of people skills,” Moccasin said of his job. “I guess I’m good at working with money.”
He tries to work at least 20 hours a week.
In the classroom, he says his favorite teacher is Mr. Wilson.
“I like him. He makes history fun,” Moccasin said.
He adds that his favorite class is government.
Moccasin holds a 2.7 grade point average. “I’m trying to make that better, but it’s pretty hard during COVID.”
After graduation, he plans to complete his general studies at Fort Peck Community College. Then, he hopes to attend Minot State University. He is undecided about his future. “There’s a lot of things to learn,” he said.
He explains that he transferred from Frazer School to Wolf Point in his fourth-grade year. “I felt like Wolf Point had more to offer,” he said.
He is proud to be a student at Wolf Point High School.
“It’s a good school. I like the students and teachers,” Moccasin said. “They treat you with respect. I like that.”
