Wilson Resigns As Head Football Coach For Wolves
Ryan Wilson has resigned as the head football coach for Wolf Point High School.
He has been coaching in Wolf Point’s football program for six years including five as the head coach.
Wilson said he didn’t have any particular reason for resigning except that his son, Austin, will graduate from high school this spring and that his daughter is starting high school in the fall.
“I still want to coach but don’t want to be the head coach,” Wilson said. “Being the head coach takes a lot of time.”
He has also been serving as the track coach for Wolf Point Junior High.
“I feel like somebody else can try to get the program up and going,” Wilson said of the Wolves’ football squad.
Although the Wolves didn’t register a win this season, Wilson feels the future is bright.
“We have some good young kids,” Wilson said. “It depends how much work they put in to get better.”
Several sophomores and freshmen have started at the varsity level. “They’re young, but they all have been playing a lot,” Wilson said.
