Board Approves Another Aide
The Culbertson School Board decided to hire an additional Title I aide during its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
Culbertson superintendent of schools Larry Crowder explained there is a need for the aide with more students requiring distance learning.
“We’re seeing more kids fall behind,” Crowder said. Trustees agreed to rehire fall sports coaches for next school year. Crowder said there were many positives during the fall including the girls placing fourth and the boys taking seventh at the state cross-country meet.
“Overall, they were fairly pleased with how things went,” Crowder said of trustees. “Injuries played a role in football.”
Trustees also approved eighth-graders to play high school basketball if the Montana High School Association’s requirements are met including 16 players or less. The main reason for the decision is so that Culbertson can have a full JV schedule. Eighth-graders must complete the junior high season before playing at the high school level.
Culbertson High School graduation has been scheduled for noon on May 22.
The school district received information from USDA that the SFSP program has been extended through the rest of the school year.
