Colder Temperatures Expected Through Month Of December

The weather for December of 2020, appears like it will be similar to the conditions of December 2019.

Felix Castro, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Glasgow, said weather is expected to be warmer than normal during the early parts of the month and be colder than average as we near the end of the year.

“We’re expecting colder than normal temperatures especially in the December through February time and more snow than normal,” Castro said. “At least, we will have nice weather during the first part of December.”

Temperatures for the rest of the week are anticipate to include highs in the middle 30s and lows in the high teens. That trends looks like it will continue into the early part of next week.

“We don’t expect any significant precipitation at least until the end of the week,” Castro said.

The NOAA released its winter forecast for the nation in October.

The forecast for northeastern Montana includes cooler than average temperatures and being wetter than normal.

“With La Nina well established and expected to persist through the upcoming 2020 winter season, we anticipate the typical, cooler, wetter North, and warmer, drier South, as the most likely outcome of winter weather that the U.S. will experience this year,” Mike Halpert, deputy director of NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, said in the press release.
