Richland County Health Officials Stress COVID Safety Measures
During the past few weeks, Richland County has experienced a greater increase of active cases than has other northeastern Montana counties.
As of Monday, Richland County has 109 active cases including two new cases listed that day. That figure compares to 40 active cases in Roosevelt County, 33 active cases in Sheridan County and 25 in Daniels County, Dawson County has 76 active cases.
The Richland County Health Department continues to urge steps to be taken to decrease the impact.
“In addition to the COVID measures we are all taking to be safe — wearing a mask, limiting contact with others and staying home when you’re sick — it’s important to understand how testing, isolation and quarantine are used together to stop spread within a community,” said Stephanie Ler, Environmental Health Director for the Richland County Health Department.
Ler stresses that individuals need to stay home when they are feeling sick.
“Contact your health care provider or the health department to discuss your symptoms and the need to potentially be tested. If you are tested, stay home! Assume you are positive until you receive a negative result. If you test positive, report your result to the health department,” Ler said. “Similarly, if you are notified that you are a contact, follow guidance from your health department. To effectively slow the spread of COVID-19, we all need to work together!”
