Fischer Charged In Connection To Weeks-Combs Shooting

A man being charged for the murder of Cody Weeks-Combs had his arraignment hearing in Fort Peck Tribal Court on Monday, Dec. 7.

D.J. Fischer is being held with no bond in the Fort Peck Tribal Detention Center for the charge of murder.

“The FBI and the Fort Peck Tribes Criminal Investigations are investigating the death of an adult male in Wolf Point on Nov. 27, 2020,” FBI spokesperson Sandra Yi Barker said. “One person is in tribal custody.”

Barker added, “The FBI’s investigation is ongoing, so I can’t release any further details at this time.”

Individuals started to do walks through Wolf Point on Monday, Nov. 30, asking for justice in the case. The march featured people of all ages chanting, “What do we want? “Justice,” “Who do we want it for?” “Cody.”

Weeks-Combs was a 2011 Wolf Point High School graduate and father of three children.

“I won’t wish anything bad for these men at all,” Weeks-Combs’ mother Frances Weeks said. “I don’t want any harm. There’s too much suffering in this world.”
