Grace Devereaux


Grace Devereaux, 53, of Poplar died Dec. 3, 2020, in Poplar.
She was born Aug. 14, 1967, in Poplar to Linda Red Boy. She grew up in the communities of Brockton and Poplar and was an active member of the Poplar of Assembly of God for the last seven years. It was there that she opened up her heart to the Lord and was reunited with her faith. She loved listening to Pastor Jay’s songs. They always made her joyful.
Through her life, she worked as a housekeeper for a brief moment of time, her passion was working in the healthcare industry. She worked as a CNA for the Faith Lutheran Home and various jobs as a home health care worker.
She loved writing and writing poetry was one of her favorite things to write. She also enjoyed going to Bingo with family and friends, collecting unique rocks, doing puzzles, playing pool, going for walks and pow-wows and her all-time favorite pastime was going to rodeos.
She was a very down-toearth and kind-hearted woman who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Even if was the only dollar to her name, she would give it to you along with the coat off her back.
She is survived by her children, Jamelle Kennedy of Poplar, Timberly Devereaux of Fargo, N.D., Kenneth Devereaux, Frederick Archdale, Wallace Archdale of Poplar, Orville Archdale of Wolf Point and Kristen Devereaux of Poplar; sisters, Colleen Devereaux, Jamie Red Thunder and Johnelle Red Thunder of Poplar; brother, Kevin Devereaux of Poplar; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Devereaux and John Red Thunder Jr.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 11, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment was at Riverview Cemetery in Brockton. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
