A White Christmas Not Likely This Year

Those individuals wishing for a white Christmas will probably be disappointed this year. Although there’s a chance for snow early in the week, the prediction for snow is low as the week goes.

“For most of the Glasgow area, it’s not looking good,” said meteorologist Ryan Berhart of the National Weather Service regarding snow for the holiday.

He said there’s a chance for snow in Opheim on Christmas but not for Glasgow and south of the city.

High temperatures for the week are forecast to be in the low 20s on Wednesday, mid-30s on Thursday and Christmas and low 30s on Saturday.

“We will be back to milder temperatures late in the week,” Berhart said There’s only a 5 percent rain of snow/rain on Thursday and Friday and 15 percent on Saturday.

The area has experienced one of its most pleasant Decembers as far as weather in recent memory.

As of Monday, December was the fourth warmest in history for Glasgow. The warmest December happened during 1999.
