Bainville High School senior Cody Skor feels the most at home when he is working in the school’s shop area.
“Basically just welding and a lot of hands-on stuff,” Skor said of what school activity he likes the best. “I’m kind of proud of all my projects really.”
He noted that he also enjoyed a woodworking class a couple of years ago where he created a hay bunk.
But his favorite task is dealing with either the interior or exterior of vehicles. His father, Mike, works for a crane company.
“I guess I grew up in the mechanics world,” Cody said. “My dad is a mechanic. I know other kids who like to work on auto repairs.”
Although his favorite class is any shop class, his favorite teacher in Bainville is Mr. Hyatt.
“We kind of like the same things. He has cars and I have cars,” Skor explained.
Skor plans to attend WyoTech technical college in Laramie, Wyo., and study auto repair.
He hopes to have a career in auto restoration. He doesn’t rule out returning to the area for his adult life.
“I’m thinking I will come back,” Skor said. “I will probably get home sick.”
He appreciates the education that he received in Bainville. “They helped me out a lot,” Skor said.
