December Was Warmest In Recent History
There weren’t many good things to celebrate during 2020, but area residents enjoyed one of the warmest Decembers in history to end the year.
According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, 2020 had the fourth warmest December in history for the area. The only warmer Decembers occurred in 1957, 1954 and 1999.
The average temperature in Glasgow during December 2020 was 27.1 degrees. There were no days where temperatures went below zero.
High temperatures during the month included 50 degrees on Dec. 20, 49 on Dec. 19, 48 on Dec. 8, 47 on Dec. 7, 44 on Dec. 24 and 44 on Dec. 9.
The lowest temperature reported was 6 degrees on Dec. 13.
Warmer than normal temperatures are anticipated to continue this week. Highs are expected to be in the 40s through Saturday with lows in the 20s.
