Froid/Lake Boys Capture Victory

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks rolled over Plentywood, 77-36, in boys’ basketball action on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Froid/Lake led by only a 17-12 margin at the end of the opening quarter, but the Red Hawks tallied the first eight points of the second quarter on three free throws by Colt Miller and five points by Brett Stentoft.

Consecutive shots by Mason Dethman increased the margin to 34-14 midway into the period. Four straight points by C. Miller put the lead at 38-16.

The Red Hawks struck for the final five points of the half on three points by Javonne Nesbit and a hoop by Dethman for a 47-20 advantage.

The scoring of Tyler Wivholm, Dethman, C. Miller and Bode Miller led Froid/ Lake to a 59-24 lead in the third quarter. The Red Hawks enjoyed a 69-32 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks were C. Miller with 25 and Dethman with 22 points. Nesbit finished with 11 points.

Also scoring were Stentoft with nine, Wivholm with six, Walker Ator with two and B. Miller with two.

C. Miller grabbed eight rebounds while Nesbit had five boards.

Leading Plentywood were Reese Wirtz with 13, Caden Trupe with nine and Kieran Hernandez with eight points. Wirtz finished with 10 rebounds.
