Brockton Boys Force Savage Into Overtime
Brockton’s boys’ basketball team lost a tough 49-47 game in overtime against Savage on Saturday, Jan. 16.
Brockton jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first quarter and led 25-17 at the half. Savage fought back to 33-29 in the third quarter.
Regulation ended in a 40-40 deadlock. Savage scored nine points in overtime for the win.
Top scorers for Brockton were Allen Russell with 14, Treydyn Bauer with 13 and Malcom Yellow Hammer with 10 points.
Sloan McPherson scored 24 points for Savage.
In the girls’ game, Savage won by a 51-19 final.
Savage led 24-12 at the half and 44-17 after three quarters.
Brooke Reuter accounted for 18 of Savage’s points.
Brockton’s boys lost by a 52-39 margin against Plentywood on Friday, Jan. 15.
After leading 28-26 at the half, Plentywood outscored Brockton 13-4 in the third quarter.
Yellow Hammer scored 24 and Bauer added nine for Brockton.
Reese Wirtz led Plentywood with 20 points.
Brockton’s girls fell to Plentywood by a 72-26 margin. The Wildcats gained a 23-4 lead in the first quarter.
Brockton travels to Bainville on Friday, Jan. 22, and hosts Froid/Lake on Saturday, Jan. 23.
