Lustre Falls Short To Opponents

Lustre Christian High School’s basketball teams suffered defeats against North Country on Friday, Jan. 15.

The Lions lost by a 60-13 margin in the girls’ game. North Country led 17-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Scoring for Lustre were Tiara Whitmus with nine and Alexa Reddig with four points.

In the boys’ contest, North Country picked up a 44-30 victory. The game was even at 19-19 at the half and North Country led 24-22 after three quarters.

Lustre’s girls lost to Dodson, 54-53, on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The Lions trailed 26-19 at the half and 42-31 after three quarters. Lustre fought back with 22 points in the fourth quarter.

Lustre’s top scorers were Reddig with 22 and Aubri Holzrichter with 15 points. Also scoring were Grace Brown with nine, Whitmus with four and Ashley O’Hara with three.

Dodson’s boys edged Lustre by a 56-49 margin. Dodson jumped out to a 30-18 halftime lead.

Top scorers for the Lions included Kolden Hoversland with 28 and Kaleb Hoversland with 10 points.

Also scoring for Luster were Cayden Klatt with five, Elijah Lenihan with four and Jasiah Hambria with two points.

Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball team lost to Class C power Scobey, 68-32, on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Scobey jumped out to an 18-7 lead and enjoyed a 34-13 half-time advantage.

Kolden Hoversland was Lustre’s top scorers with 16 points.

Also scoring for the Lions were Elijah Lenihan with eight, Cayden Klatt with five, Josh Brown with three and Braeden Toavs with two.

Scobey’s top scorers were Reagan Machart with 21, Aiden Fishell with 13 and Caden Handran with 12 points.

Lustre Christian’s girls fell short to Scobey by a 48-33 final.

The Spartans led 15-5 at the end of the first quarter and 23-12 at the half. Scobey outscored Lustre by a 13-10 margin in the third quarter.

Top scorers for the Lions were Tiara Whitmus and Alexa Reddig with 12 points. Grace Brown added five and Aubri Holzrichter had four.
