Montana National Guard To Assist At Inauguration
Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte has made the decision to send 150 Army National Guard soldiers from Montana to Washington, D.C., for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
“I’m grateful to our selfless soldiers who are answering the call of duty again today to help ensure a peaceful transfer of power, a bedrock of our republic,” Gianforte said in a press release.
Gianforte said that the National Guard Bureau and federal authorities requested the security assistance in Washington, D.C. The soliders from Montana will join more than 20,000 Guard members from other states in support of the Washington, D.C. National Guard and federal law enforcement agencies.
