It’s game day, and Culbertson High School senior Sabastian Le-May is one busy guy.

During home basketball games, LeMay isn’t only a cheerleader but also a valuable member of the school’s pep band.

“Sometimes, it’s hard to run to both things,” LeMay said.

He plays saxophone for the band and has been playing the instrument for six years. During his high school career, he and Clayton Toavs earned third place at the state music festival for saxophone duet.

This marks LeMay’s third year as being a cheerleader for the school.

“I love cheering for our town,” Le-May said. “It’s really fun.”

He’s the only male cheerleader for Culbertson. “The tough part is the judgment you might get, but you don’t really see that here.”

In the classroom, his favorite subject is physics.

“You’re learning about what makes things work,” LeMay explained.

His favorite teacher is band teacher Jennesy Taberna.

LeMay has been accepted to study at the University of Montana and Montana State University in Bozeman. He will also apply at schools in California.

He plans to major in computer science.

“I would really like to work at the Disney company,” LeMay said.
