Poplar’s Wrestlers Have Busy Week
Poplar’s wrestling team returned to action with dual competitions against Sidney’s JVs and Glasgow on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Highlighting the match against Sidney’s JVs was Jazmin Gorder pinning Keele Kary in 1:35, Jase Frederick pinning Amia Kern in 18 seconds and Logan Boadle earning a 15-6 major decision victory over Josh Salz.
Sidney’s JVs won by a 47-22 final.
Glasgow defeated Poplar by a 63-6 margin. The Scotties received six victories on forfeits.
Poplar’s Jase Frederick pinned Glasgow’s Damon Adkins in 3:05 at 126 points.
Poplar’s wrestling squad competed against opponents from Lewistown and Circle during action in Lewistown on Friday, Feb. 5.
Jazmin Gorder pinned Lewistown’s Jake Simac in 1:27.
Jase Frederick earned a 14-1 major decision victory over Lewistown’s Damen McCord. He also scored a victory over Circle’s Grady Richardson.
Logan Boadle pinned Lewistown’s Jett Boyce in 1:58. Boadle dropped a 14-4 decision against Lewistown’s Keaton Potter.
Aries White Tail Feather pinned Lewistown’s Christian Wolfe in 1:40 and was pinned by Lewistown’s Dylan Morris in 1:26.
Poplar’s Gage Berg dropped matches against Circle’s Bryson Bartelson and Lewistown’s Wyatt Elam.
Kameron Reum lost matches against Lewistown’s Kason Olson and Circle’s Krayle Stormer.
Mitchell Youngman dropped matched against Lewistown’s Colton Picco and Lewistown’s Kason Olson.
The Indians wrestled against Huntley Project on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Gorder pinned Teagan Anderson in 4:40. Youngman pinned Parker Craig in 3:41.
Frederick outpointed Parker Craig by a 13-11 margin.
Gage Berg pinned Jackie White in 1:38.
Boadle pinned Zach Caton in 1:03.
