Culbertson, Brockton Splits Contests
Brockton and Culbertson split league basketball contests in Culbertson Friday, Feb. 12.
In the boys’ contest, Brockton won by a 71-47 final.
After trailing 15-13 at the end of the first quarter, Brockton scored 23 points in the second quarter for a 36-27 half-time lead.
Brockton led 49-38 after three quarters of play.
Top scorers for Brockton were Treydyn Bauer with 25, Allen Russell with 14, Malcom Yellow Hammer with 11 and QuinnDale Pretty Paint with 10. Also scoring for the Warriors were Wambidi Yellow Hammer with eight and Kameron Rattling Thunder with three.
Payton Perkins scored 12 points for Culbertson. Also scoring were Hunter Lucas with eight, Maurice Bighorn with eight, James Kirkaldie with six, Ethan Pirkle with three, Carson Solem with three, Mike Pederson with two and Kobe Nickoloff with two.
Culbertson’s girls captured a 53-14 victory. The Cowgirls took a 16-3 lead in the first quarter and were ahead 31-5 at intermission.
Leading Culbertson were Makena Hauge with 21 and Destiney Thompson with 12.
Also scoring were Megan Granbois with nine, Alicyn Ator with four, Haleigh Buck Elk with two, Sarah Steinbrecher with two, Perla Burciaga with two and Autumn Bergum with one.
Scoring for Brockton were Princess Russell with four, Povee Youngman with four, Ava Lone Bear with three, Kyra Stormy with two and Hally Eder with one.
