Culbertson Falls To Plentywood Teams
Culbertson’s basketball teams returned to action on Wednesday, Feb. 10, with home contests against Plentywood.
Plentywood’s boys won by a 65-40 final.
Plentywood led by a 17-13 margin at the end of the first quarter and 32-23 at the half.
The Wildcats then scored 17 points in the third quarter for a 49-34 advantage.
Reaching double figures for the Cowboys were Michael Pederson with 12 and Lucas Hunter with 10 points.
Also scoring were Payton Perkins with nine, Colin Avance with three, James Kirkaldie with three and Shea Scott with three.
Plentywood’s top scorers were Reese Wirtz and Caydon Trupe with 22 points each.
In the girls’ game, Plentywood pulled away in the second half for a 57-31 victory.
The Wildcats led 9-3 at the end of the first quarter and 23-16 at intermission.
Plentywood then struck for 25 points in the third quarter to increase its lead to 48-21.
Makena Hauge scored 13 points for the Cowgirls. Rounding out the scoring were Perla Burciaga with five, Megan Granbois with three, Autumn Bergum with two, Destiney Thompson with two, Sarah Steinbrecher with two and Haleigh Buck Elk with two.
